Project result 1
Mapping the Befriending Landscape
The activities for the development of this result were structured in two phases: I Research phase: The research encompassed: – Desk research – to identify good practices in befriending services provided by youth in Europe and lectures learned (findings complied in good practices report), and – Key informants interviews in each country – to explore the expectations of befriending services among elderly and youth, as well as youth’s training needs in regards to establishing and maintaining befriending services for elderly (findings complied in national reports). A research protocol was developed, providing detailed guidelines of the research methodology, the analysis of the findings and their presentation, as well a template for the good practices and national reports. Each partner organization identified at least two good practices and conducted 5-7 key informant interviews. II Elaboration phase: This phase involved collection and synthesizing of the individual partners’ good practices reports and national reports and drafting conclusions and recommendations.
